FAQ

  • Why do joinery quotes differ so much?

It’s really difficult to compare apples to apples when getting quotes. While your drawings are set, every person will have different ideas around how to build it based on their experience and equipment on hand. You also need to consider inclusions, delivery time, experience and ability to do work in house. These are the kinds of questions you should be asking your cabinetmaker when considering the quote.

  • How can save money on our kitchen?

We understand that kitchens are expensive and customers are keen to save money where they can.

That’s why we’ve introduced tiered pricing for our services. You can choose the level of service to suit your budget, from a flatpack where we provide you with all the pieces you need to a fully bespoke service where we manage everything for you.

  • What does a cabinetmaker do?

Naturally as a homeowner, we don’t look at kitchen and say we need an Electrician, Plumber, Stonemason, floorer, tiler and cabinetmaker - we just say we need a new kitchen. All of these trades are needed for a kitchen renovation, hence why kitchens can be so expensive.

Cabinetmakers are responsible for any of the timber panels you see in your kitchen this includes drawers, cupboards, fridge cabinets, shelving and more. With that being said, naturally cabinetmakers fall into a project management role to coordinate other trades.

  • What materials do you use?

We use locally available materials. For laminates we work with Polytec, Laminex and Nikpol products. We’ve done fantastic projects with veneers from Bord Products and plywood from Plyco too. The great thing about this is if you’ve recently had a house built and you’re looking to having matching materials we can do it.

  • Why does a kitchen take so long to install?

Kitchen cabinets are one of the few items in new homes that are still cut to measure. So before every job, your space is measured at least twice to ensure that everything is cut to the millimetre, understanding that if it isn’t the finished product won’t look right. Because the margin for error so tight, good cabinets take time to cut, assemble, test and install.

  • Do you installation only?

Yes we do! If you have already got everything cut and assembled and are looking for an installer we can support that
